Lit Jam!

  • Jagged Vertical Dance & Fitness 11655 Santa Monica Blvd Los Angeles United States (map)

🔥 Only for instructor approved fire students 🔥

LET’S GET LIT!

FIRST TIMER'S/SAFETY BRIEFING $50: 2.5 hours in total 4-6:30p this ticket tier includes an additional 30 minutes in prep time for initial safety instruction, extinguishing, and gradual lit practice for comfort

RETURNER/DROP IN $35: 2 hours 4:30-6:30p You've already been through the safety briefings, want to light up right away to practice what we've done in class or just flow!(specific location will be sent out to privately to attendees prior to the jam)

🔥 It’s time to take those props out of the classroom and out on the town with real fire! We will safely advise and guide you towards being a full blown fire dancer whether you want to add this to your skill set to perform or just for fun!

✨ We will go over:

-Fire safety. Showing you how to set up a dip station, what fuel to use, safe dipping and spin off protocol, safetying a lit fire performer and extinguishing props comfortably with a duvetyne fire safe blanket.

-First time lighting up your prop! We will go over some safety positions and bails for lit props in case of wind, mistakes, etc., help you get comfortable holding a prop on fire in small steps, understand the different stages of being lit and timing of what skills are possible in those stages, and simple patterns to start with.

-Practicing free flow/play time with your props on fire to get comfortable improving through an entire burn (2-5 minutes at a time)

-Practicing choreography from class

Note: not everyone will get to do all these steps in one jam depending on how it goes on a case by case scenario, as safety is EXTREMELY important to us and will under no circumstances be compromised. If you do not abide by our safety protocol we reserve the right to ask you to leave.

We will provide supplies for the first time, but please refer to the list below for the future and if you want to continue lighting up!
